It’s a good question: “why should I go to church?” Indeed, many people have apparently found little or no reason to attend. We live in a culture where fewer and fewer of us are actively attached to an organized religion or local church. Not so long ago our culture was just the opposite. What happened?
The world has changed radically and the church failed to appropriately respond to that change. Churches doing the “same old thing” caused many to simply give up on tiredreligion. Other churches simply “changed God” and the Bible to “fit in”.
Both of these “responses” failed completely. God does not need to be reinvented, but the way we do church must be reconsidered. The answer is a church which offers the timeless truth of God in a manner that is relevant for today.
Such a church will make sense of a world that too often seems senseless, find purpose in a life that too often seems purposeless, and offer hope when our lives seem hopeless. No tired religion and no reinvented God, instead a journey of discovery into the most beautiful and important message there has even been or will ever be.
Why church? To discover the true God who has come to set us free from fear and loneliness; to set us free even from death and to find life as you’ve never known it - His Life.
